Hi.

I have a Sony VAIO PCVRX660, which uses a 1.8 GHz P4. Now a days, processor standards of higher speeds. This is a desktop system. How can I overclock the processor?

the processor in the system in my sig is a 1.8P4m northwood 400mhz fsb
it overclocks pretty good up to almost 2.8ghz
2.6 to 2.7 seems to be the sweet spot with about 1.68 to 1.7v

1. Can you access the bios on that computer (and be able to change the fsb, ram divider, etc?)
2. What are your other specs?
3. Do you know ANYTHING about overclocking? If not, google.com
4. I doubt you'l get alot out of that VAIO since it's cooling is probably minimum.

I know some about overclocking. Not much though.

Its got 512 MB ram.

80 GB hard drive.

Yes, I can access the BIOS. The last time I accessed my BIOS, I dont recall anything about changing FSB or RAM settings. Where can I get an updated BIOS?

I doubt Sony is gonna have a place where you can update your bios :|

I think the only way you can OC is by using Clockgen...google for it. And please, do more research before you attempt OCing.
