HTT @ 280
HTT multiplyer @ 4
RAM @ 200mhz

Its almost stable at that speed, but after about 15 min of dual prime95 and generaly using it while its priming the whole comp freezes. Thats at 1.4v.

I'm running memtest 86 now so i will know if the ram is stable.

This chip is great, its much better than my single core 3200+ which could only go to 2.5ghz on 1.45 vcore.

Also do u think going to 1.45 vcore on a dual core chip is too much? i have a TT sonic tower cooler with a 80mm fan in the middle of it and a 120mm mounted with the brackets that came with it, the max temp it gets to is 48 - 49 C.

Any advice on how to get it stable?

Up the Vcore to 1.45 i have my 4400X2 on that with air cooling. My temps are slightly higher than yours, 52*C but my clock is much lower too @2.56

Lucky git :D

There would be no performance drops until you reach to like 500 HTT, even at 500, it would VERY small....right now, i'm guessing your unstable because your HTT is in the 1100s...

No, but running it higher than 1000 is probably whats causing you to be unstable..

Ok i decided to give up on the 2.8ghz, and set it to 2.7 which runs at the previous settings.

When i set the voltage higher the voltage regulators overheat, its a pain the ambien temp in my room is too high.

O well 2.7 is enough for me, i might have to get another fan, i'm running out of space where to put them :p

Great results! My x2 3800+ does 2.5GHz stock vcore, but only gets another 100 or so MHz with a vcore boost and won't even POST reliably at 2.7GHz. Similar results on both an ECS NFORCE4-A939 and an Abit KN8.

I think now my memory and mainboard are whats limiting going further.
The mainboard literaly struggles to supply the power to the cpu where when i set the voltage past 1.4 at such hight speeds the voltage regulators with those big passive sinks get to like 70degrees and the comp crashes.
Also any divider lover than 150 causes my second set of sticks, to crash in fact when i ran memtest 86 everything past 1024 mem mark gave errors :p
and at 280HTT my ram gets to DDR 400 speeds where my mobo dfi mobo starts not liking the corsair mem.

By the way anyone knows any way of checking if this chip is a toledo with half cache disabled or a manchaster?

Does your recently bought in 2006?
I have 2 X2s that run 2700mhz
first one: 27000mhz@1.41v, 0529 TPMW, MaxTcase: 67'c
second one: 2700mhz 1.475v 0530 SPMW, MaxTcase: 65'c

Yea i just bought my X2 2 weeks ago.
Thats lucky getting 2 which work at 2.7
I guess i wont be able to get the numbers for my one, i dont feel like removing this huge heatsink, barely fit when i was instaling it. :p

You did lower HTT multiplier right?

Yep i did, at 2.7 and up to 2.75 it will run at stock voltage, or in bios set to 1.375 to account for the voltage droop.

At 2.8 it freezes in prime at 1.45v, so i think i will keep it at 2.7 or maybe 2.75ghz
