Alright here's the thread link on the information you guys will probably need
http://forums.anandtech.com/me...6224&enterthread=y

Basically I need to update two things in my bios in order to get it at 3ghz

Memory Ratio: from 1:1, to 4:5
FSB: from 200 to 250

and I was also told to up the voltage on the core to +.05

Now this is my bud's computer, so could you guys tell me where in the bios I would find all these so I can tell him....

Also if you look at the system specs I pasted in that thread, it says he has 4gb of ram, when on his computer he knows for a fact he has 1gb, he even checked the my computer > properties and it said 1gb, I don't know what thats all about but I was also told to test out memtest86 and prime95 by nick1985.

You're going to have to look around a bit for exactly where they are--I'm not too familiar with that board--but it may help if you know some alternate names/values for this stuff. In order to enable overclocking, you may have to flash the BIOS to a newer version or simply configure the board to let you change those settings in the BIOS.

The memory ratio is also known as a divider, and on that board it may have options like a "166" memory setting (meaning it runs the memory at 166 when the FSB is 200 and goes up from there) or possibly a percentage setting (4:5 would be 80%).

The FSB might also be known as the system bus or carry values starting at 800 for you (if it pre-multiplies it for a P4's quad-data-rate bus--in this case, you'll have to do the division by 4 yourself when we quote FSB speeds for you).

Voltage on core = VCore. If it's fluctuating a little bit, don't worry; this is normal, especially for software/BIOS readings.
