I just got a 3.2ghz prescott, socket 775, with unlocked multipliers of 14-16. I was running a 2.8e prescott on an Asus P4P800, with a 350w enermax. The 2.8 was 100% prime95 stable at 250mhz FSB, running at 3.5ghz. The 3.2 is lga775 running on an Abit AS8 motherboard. I can't get this thing stable past 3.5ghz, even though it is running cooler than my 2.8 was. I have it running at 250mhz FSB with a 14x multiplier. If I got to 251mhz FSB or higher, Prime95 errors out within 5 minutes. If I use a lower FSB and higher multiplier, it still becomes unstable past 3.5ghz, even though the temp never goes higher than 52c. My 2.8 ran at 61c under full load at 3.5ghz. I dont' get it? Why can't I get past 3.5ghz?!?. It's kinda strange that I am stuck at 3.5ghz, with 2 different chips, on 2 differant motherboards...I have upped the vcore 1.43v, to try and get it stable, but makes no differance. Not sure how much higher I should try going with the vcore. I have also run the ram with a divider to eliminate it as the limiter, even though it ran fine at 250mhz FSB with the 2.8ghz. Sorry for the long post, just getting a bit frustrated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I got a new motherboard, a Thermalright XP-120, and a 460w enermax to use this chip, and it doesn't run any faster than what I already had...
