Overclocking help for new system, need a template

Hi guys, can someone help with a configuration template for my system, just some conservative overclocking settings for the new system nothing extreme.

Last time i tried to overclock anything it was about 5 years ago in college life priorities kind changed after graduation. I am looking for a dummy guide from other owners of the same hardware, kinda like a step by step go here click this type deal. Thank you for your help


SPEC:

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz 4M shared CPU
- GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) Motherboard
- GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 Kit 4-4-4-12 (Voltage: 1.9-2.3V if it helps)
- MSI GeForce 8800GTS 640MB Factory OverClocked: core clock 575mhz memory 1700mhz
- Zalman CNP9500 LED 92mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan with Heatsink
- Maxtor 300GB 16MB SATA HDD
- Antec TruePowerTrio 550W Power supply
- LianLI aluminum case
- Will be running Windows XP pro (not vista)

will this work good for a conservative setting? usually i leave my pc on for days at a time.

CPU Host Frequency: 400MHZ (*8 = 3.2 GHZ overclock)
System Memory Multiplier: 2
DRAM Timing Selectable: Manual at 4-4-4-12
Leave all the voltage stuff alone as auto.

I'm not sure about leaving the voltages all at auto, maybe the mobo will try and give to much voltage to your cpu, which will result in to much heat that you're cooling can't handle. I'm no expert at this, simply because I haven't tried. This guy has, and his post pretty much corresponds with OC's I have done, or have seen myself.

# vCore: 1.425(3.4ghz)/1.475(3.5 ghz)/1.525(3.6 ghz) To Compensate for Vdroop This could actually be lower since you're aiming at 3.2, so 1.375, or 1.4 might work as well, hell, you can prolly hit 3.2 at stock, but I forgot what stock is on a e6420, think it's 1.35 though

# vMem: 2.0-2.5 (Find the warranty for your ram) You allready mentioned 1.9-2.3 so you can safely run it at 2.3 and then try to lower it when your system is stable
# Configured FSB: 1520, 1560, 1600
# Memory Ratio: 1:1 on 975x. This corresponds to the Ram Speed being 2x the fsb. I.E. 400 = DDR2-800.
# Configured Ratio: 7 (E6300), 8 (E6400), 9 (E6600), 10 (E6700), 11-50 (X6800)
# Configured Memory Timings: Configured under chipset. I would say most ram should be able to handle 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz. If you are lucky your ram will be able to do CAS3 and get better performance.
# C1E and SpeedStep off, Turn off any PCI-E linkboost as it is actaully slower.

And that's it basicaly. You should be running speedfan to moniture temperatures, under orthos at blend you don't want to see temperatures go over 60 celsius. You could also use TAT and see what temperatures you get then. TAT does make your cpu run hotter, but imo the temperatures it makes your cpu reach don't reflect everyday pc usage.
