Overclocking E6600

My friend wants to OC her E6600 CPU but the problem is that she is using RAMS with different frequencies

2 X DDR 533
2 X DDR 667

I know the Ram frequencies of DDR 667 is reduced to 533 but is it possible to overclock this kind of setup? If yes then how to do it? She is using Intel 975XBX (first model) and Zalman Heatsink.

Idle Surface Temp: 40° C
Idle Core Temps: 30° C

Thank you

She'll be more limited by the 533. It runs at an FSB of 266 which is stock for the E6600 so if she's using the DDR2-533 she'll need to push that RAM hard to get anything out of it in a 1:1 ratio with that motherboard.

Edit: FYI it's a bit unrelated but always use the Intel TAT to read core temperatures.

Got to get new ram.

DDR 667 should allow a 3ghz overclock, but when mixing 533 and 667 RAM, the PC will only allow both kits to run @ 533mhz.

If you do decide to buy new ram, go with DDR2 800mhz which will serve you better in the future...
