Guys & Gals of the network experts,

One of my computers running P3 600Mhz on 100Mhz FSB shows this symptom. It will refuse to download from Internet if I overclock the P3 to 672Mhz by raising the FSB clock to 112Mhz. Internet Explorer browses everything fine but just no downloading. It just hangs there for a while then reports the download site is not available. Any downloading by any application shows the same problem (Napster, AOL, GetRight ... you name it). All other operations are working fine, just the downloading not working. If I reduce the FSB to normal bandwidth then everything will work again. My network connects to Internet through a Linksys Ethernet Adapter 10/100 to a SBC Barricade router & a cable modem. Here is my system spec

P3 600Mhz
LuckyStar 440BX Motherboard
196Mb DRAM @ 100Mhz FSB
Linksys Ethernet Adapter 10/100TX PCI card
Advansys SCSI UltraWide for Yamaha CDRW 6x4x16x <- This one also shows errors of burning CDs at overclocking
3dfx 2000 PCI graphic card
Seagate 13GB

& I have the latest IDE Intel driver, the 2.8 Beta.

Does it look like the FSB @ 112Mhz screwing up the PCI timing? I would appreciate any hint so I can debug this issue.
TIA

Hi,
Another brand NIC will probably fix your problem. I have 2 linksys NIC's and neither can handle a increased bus speed.

I had that problem. It was the nic. I bought an expensive one(70 dollars) from catc and it could handle high pci speeds bacause it is USB.

I agree... I couldnt acces my LAN at all after upping the FSB when I had my linksys nic installed... Simply switching to a kingston NIC resolved this issue.......
