Hi Guys,

Can we overclock the E4300 to around 2 to 2.33Ghz without increasing the voltage or changing the cooler?

overclock done by increasing Bus speed...

Stock 200*9 = 1.80
Overclock1 233*9 = 2.097
Overclock2 266*9 = 2.394

My config is

C2d E4300, Intel DG865RY, 1GB DDR2, factory voltage and cooler.

Kindly advise.

Cheers,
Arv

You should be able to get that up into the upper twos from what I have heard with stock voltage and heatsink. I don't know how well intel boards overclock so I would stick to 266 for your first test and then work up from their in 5mhz increments and find the max stable clock that way if you for some reason can't get it to 266 than you can always pin mod it although that takes a lot of guts to do but you can google to see if it is something you want to do. You should be able to give it a little more volts and get to 3ghz although I don't know if you need a new cooler for that like maybe an artic freezer. Post back with you temps and type of ram.

Also you may want to lower your fsb:ram ratio so that you don't run too overspec.

Thanks Zach.

I think I would be happy to get the stock O/c'd to 2.4 for now... :)

I will O/c and let you the know the temps...

RAM is Kingston 1GB DDR2-800 SDRAM
