Overclocking Barrier

Hey guys, I don't know if any of you have seen my posts in the past, about my 5700u being able to maintain the core overclock, but the memory overclock resets itself after I shut down my system. I have a PNY 5700u, with the DDRII. The stock speeds are 475/906. I at the moment I have it at 525/906. Do you think the memory reverts to 906 because of lack of power? or the nanosecond rating of the memory? I'm just looking into reasons why it would do this. And either way, the memory wat at 956 before, do you think the performance gain in that is minimal?

UPDATE: Just installed coolbits 2, it seems to be retaining the speeds, SO FAR. I don't wanna jynx myself!

you probibly haven't checked a box that says "boot current" insted of "boot bios defaults" . At least that is what there is for ATI cards, not sure about nvidia cards.

Well, the box for coolbits is "Apply settings at startup" And I have that box checked. I know it's working, because the core remains overclocked. It's just this blasted memory!!! 🙁

EDIT: And the darndest thing, I remember it staying overclocked sometimes, and sometimes, like now, the memory reverts. It's almost like luck.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer. But, I am curious why you want to overclock your graphics card right off the bat when you start windows! Don't you ever use your machine to read emails or surf the web or post a message on a forum? You don't benefit from overclocking while you are doing either of those things.
Why not just overclock when you start a 3D application?

Well, the 5700u has a 2d, and 3d mode, I am overclocking the 3d mode. And that is where the core overclocks, but the memory reverts after a shut-down, or a stand by.

the 2d and 3d mode most have something to do with it. my guess is that your computer boots in 2d mode rather than 3d mode. But that still doesn't make any sence why your core stays overclocked. Well, that didn't answer your question, just thinking out loud.

See that's the thing, i've posted this before, but have been completely ignored, twice, does ANYONE have any insightful input? It's not like i'm going to disagree with you, I don't know what's going on!
