Overclocking and RAM

I am really at a loss of what to do. I will be OCing my Venice 3200+ from 2.0ghz to 2.7 ghz. This will mean I will need to run my memory at 270mhz. My question is this:

I hear that 2GB of memory is better for the athlons than 1 GB of performance memory, but since the 2GB kits are never high performance RAM would the 2X1GB sticks even be able to run at 270mhz?

Any help is greatly appreciated

2GB is better for any system, but few actually use it. Since the A64 have integrated memory controllers you can use a memory divider which allows your memory to run at a lower speed than the FSB or the CPU, with minimal performance hit on the A64 platform. I suggest you look at ZEBO's guide in this section (its hard to miss) The guide will enlighten you and show you that expensive RAM has the worst price/permance ratio of almost any part. So do yourself a favor and stick with value RAM and use a divider, unless you have money laying around 🙂
