I hate this about internet forums. Can't ask any simple questions because someone will just say "search button". Overclocking on those boards was simple. Increase fsb, run ram 1:1, increase voltage to cpu if needed and you're done.

the problem is, there is no one easy setting that will work on all the different components available. Overclocking is all trial and error.

Well got it stable so far at 3.32ghz w/ vcore at 1.34v, +1 ddr2 overvolt and +1 mch overvolt.

Also it posted at 500fsb w/ vcore at 1.3562v. Just need to check stability.

Once again wasnt asking for what settings or voltages to choose. I was making sure my steps that i wrote out seem correct for overclocking and they were.

'gratz on 500fsb, dial it in and i'm sure you'll like it there but be sure to add some cooling to your ram. At least get a fan blowing across them.

Thanks Gillbot i got it to boot into windows but i knocked it down to 3.2ghz. I can probably get 3.5ghz stable but i dont want to stress my system too hard w/ a 500fsb plus this was just for practice.

i just picked up an E8500 E0 w/ the 9.5 multiplier so ill should be able to hit 4ghz w/ only a 422fsb compared to a 500fsb for 3.5ghz. It was nice to see that my board could clock the E6550 that high though :)

Nice Z28 BTW Chevy V8 FTW!!!

IMHO, the higher FSB is nice on the C2D's but yes it adds a LOT of stress to the system. FWIW, the difference between 450fsb and 500fsb is minimal overall, so if you can get 4GHz at as high of an FSB as you can tolerate you'll notice a bump in performance.
