Anyone have any idea when the new AMD 64's are coming out
(3500+,3700+,3800+)?

Anyway...here is my setup so far:

Chenming Blue Aluminium SOHO Tower Case
450W Peak Power Supply
ASUS K8V Deluxe SE Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor
Thermaltake Venus 12 CPU Cooler
Hitachi 80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS

I'm looking to buy 512MB of RAM? Which is the best to buy?

Any suggestions? Should I change anything (already got the case and power
supply)?

I think I'll go for the zalman 7000a-alcu. I also found the Geil Platinum Series Dual Channel (2x256) (PC-4000) have some pretty good ratings and is most popular on newegg.

Yup...I use the Venus 12 and damn its loud. I initially installed the dial on the back of the machine to control fan speed, but once I heard it at full throttle, I quickly installed the front fan control instead.

I have it on a AMD64 3400+ O/C'ed and I keep it at the lowest setting, and rarely get temps over 42C. Pretty good HSF IMHO.

The ASUS K8V Deluxe SE doesn't have agp/pci lock correct? If so the highest overclock will only be around 215 FSB if i am not mistaken. Anyways newegg is selling MSI's NEO featuring Nforce 3 250GB for $150ish so if you really plan on doing any serious overclocking i would trade in that board.

btw is shuttle coming out with a nforce 3 250 board for their SFF computers, just curious hehe

Is this a relatively new board? I don't see much reviews on it...is the nForce3 250GB better than VIA's chipset on the K8V?

OK, found the answer to my last question. Anyway, Crucial has 512 MB of its PC-4300 RAM going for $150. I talked to 2 live help representives which confirmed the timings were 4-4-4. Would anyone suggest the Geil Platinum Series Dual Channel 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-4000 with a CAS latency of 2.5 and timings 7-4-4 T1 over Crucial PC-4300?

Ive read that latency is as important as bandwidth on the A64, you might want to look at Corsairs new Extreme Latency series.

Assuming Anandtech ever reviews it...
