hi i have question i want to know how high can i go overclocking my alienware in the bios can anyone help thanks
i have a alienware M17XR3 running

windows 8 pro
intel core i7-2630qm cpu @2.00GHZ
AMD radeon HD 6800M SERIES
32GB RAM

Not at all. Your laptop has an HM67 chipset, and overclocking can only be done on a Z-series chipset.

Why overclock the cpu? For gaming your cpu is more than sufficient. Overclock your gpu if you want better fps. Temps are pretty much the same +/- 2 degrees as long as you don't change the voltage (which you can't do on a laptop because its bios locked).

Alienware = Dell, Dell does not give overclocking options in BIOS. They would prefer you spend even more money.

Ehh, if doing heavy rendering, then I can see overclocking. Alienwares at least are (somewhat?) better built to handle an OC than the average laptop. To do so though I believe requires an Intel xm (extreme mobile) cpu instead of the qm one. Anything else is usually locked down.
