pretty much start with lowest ram settings when ocing
then when you are at max speed of cpu (or a speed you liek) then raise the settings one by one and play around a bit

... wahhh ... i wish my MB supported over 12.5 ...

But then Iwouldnt be at 191 either.

My Cosair PC3200c2 xms does - Cas 2, 4bank, 2,6,2,2 1T at 191 FSB
on my AMD box

I am rock solid at this also,,, I'd like to see if you can run Prime95 and 3dMark same time at that high of clock.
Drop me a PM,,, let me know how it goes...

I have it set at the 14.0 multi and a 174 fsb and it's at 2420 right now, memory is at 416 with 4,2,2,2 timing. I don't understang that 8/16 multiplier, I mean what is the 8 for?

8 is for the lower Mhz chips.

dropping the multipler and raising FSB is how to OC those older chips.
(after unlocking the multipliers)

I had to raise from my memory from 5 to 6 at 191fsb.

Be sure to run memtest86 to make sure you getting no errors.

This 8/16 multiplier stuff in the BIOS seems specifically designed to confound potential overclockers. Basically, just set "CPU Interface" to "Agressive" and the higher number will be used (indeed, who wants a lowly 8.0 multiplier? Bah!).

I just have a couple questions concerning the A7N8X and the XP2700+... I hear that the BIOS does not unlock the multipliers for this chip, so can you physically unlock it much like the 2400+ and earlier? anyone have experience with this combination?

do you have to use some wire trick as I've seen once or twice? or does connecting one or more of the bridges still work? In the 2400+ I read its the last of the L3 bridges but that's all the info I've had to go on.

I'm not so sure that is up-to-date... I know thats how it used to be, but I was under the impression that for 2400+ ones at least you only connected the last L3 bridge and as for the 2700, I have no idea. Can anyone else confirm?
