Overclocking a VideoCard

Can someone show me the way to (info) (faq) ect.. ect.. On overclocking a Video Card and how its all done.

I'm really not familiar with this and would love to learn.

As to what program you use it depends on the type of card you have. I prefer Riva Tuner for my Geforce 2 PRO. It helps to have good airflow in your case, a gpu heatsink/fan, ramsinks, and maybe even an extra fan blowing onto you card. While overclocking, take it up in small steps and then test for a while with 3Dmark 2001. If you see any twinklink pixles or other artifacts than take it back down a few mhz and test it for stability. You will probably get the most performance from overclocking you video card's RAM but overclocking the GPU can help some. Hope this helps.

I currently have a gf2mx200 (generic)

I have No idea what speed its running at now, just wanted to mess around with it see if I can tweak it a bit for MOHAA, Im getting terrible FPS.

If you have a Geforce card (Any Geforce card)

You can hack the bios using a program called: Nvidia Bios Editor by Ray Adams http://www.x-bios.3dgames.ru/index.php

His page is down at the moment but it will be up shortly.

Its a great program it allows you to modify other settings as well =)

I used it to hack my Gainward GF3 TI200 GS to 200/500 and also turned on Agp Fastwrites. I like hacking the bios over using the software
tweak because everytime you reboot you card goes back to default settings and as soon as you load windows it gets o/ced again, I don't
think thats good for the card. So I hack the bios and now no matter if I reboot or put the card in a diff system it will always be at the settings I set them too. Its perm like you bought it from a store =).

Just one tip: Use the software sliders to test how high your card can handle then make the changes perm with bios hack.

I use NVMax for my Geforce 3, but I'm not sure if it works with your card...(BTW, did I mention that my card is the $99 Visiontek from Thanksgiving, and that it does better than ti 500 speeds without a hiccup?)😀
