I wouldn't. Yet.
I've exhausted all of my ideas. I'm not familiar with how the multiplier controls work on the K7D. I control the mults on my A7M266-D using a pair of golden sockets.
I would cross my fingers and hope that someone more knowledgable comes along. I would also register at
2cpu forums and post the same question in their Motherboards section, as there are a lot of K7D users there.
One more question: do you have the latest BIOS? I know that some people have had problems with the K7D and high speed procs.
This is the latest BIOS 'in the wild', 1.7b3. There have been some reports of bad flashes, but as I understand it, if you do get a bad flash, don't reboot and just try to flash again. Should work second time around.
Let me reiterate that. If you do have a bad flash,
do not reboot. As long as the computer is up, you can keep attempting to reflash, but once you reboot you must attempt more drastic measures. This is good advice in general, not just in reference to the K7D.
Hope this helps!!
