Overclocking a Duron 700

I did the pencil trick, but my Duron won't even POST with a multiplicator
higher than 8.5
I double checked the L1 bridges, and they are all connected correctly.
I use a Abit KT7.
Anyone has any hints on how to get it to POST with a multiplicator of
9 or higher?
