overclocking a 1600+

I know that to best overclock a 1600+ you need to unlock it. But, I am new to overclocking, and I've just been fooling around, and I was wondering how bad is it to overclock just by upping the FSB? I know that it effects your PCI/AGP memory buses, but is it to the point that you just shouldn't do it?
