I own an ASUS Extreme N7800GTX Video Card.
I have replaced the stock cooling with an Artic Cooling NVidia Silencer 5 Revision 3.
Stock Speed Temperatures Idle
At stock speeds (430MHz Core, 1200MHz Memory) when idle the temperatures are Core-38 deg. Celsius and Memory-29 deg. Celsius. The core temperature is taken for inside the drivers page.As far as the memory is concerned i have installed a thermal module from Thermaltake Harcano 13 at the back side memory of the card.Motherboard temperature is 29 deg. Celsius.
Stock Speed Temperatures 3DMark
After running 3DMark 2005/2006 for about 20 minutes the temeratures are Core-58 deg. Celsius and Memory-36 deg. Celsius.(It doesn't take more than 5 minutes for these temperatures to be reached).Motherboard temperature is 31 deg. Celsius.I constanty observe the core temperature during 3DMark on a second TV Screen because when the tests stop the temperature may fall as much as 5 degrees until reentering desktop.
Overclocking from inside NVidia Drivers Page
I tried overclocking the core and the maximun it can reach is 526MHz.The test is passed every time according to the drivers page.(After 100 consecutive retries i have no problems).3DMark runs without any errors. The temperature reaches 62 deg. Celsius.
Memory Overclocking
I don't know how much i should overclock the memory because after a number of retries the test fails(Driver Test). At 1350MHz it may fail 1 out of 100 retries.I have run 3DMark at 526/1400 without any problems but i am afraid for the memory modules. The temperature they reach is 38 deg. Celsius.
That is 4 deg. Celsius for the core and 2 deg. Celsius for the memory.
The question is,how can i be sure what memory speed is safe?
Apart from 3DMark is there another program that i could try?
What speeds havee you reached?
