Hi all
Just got my new computer, a Athlon XP 2800+ Barton, 512MB PC3200 DDR, ECS L7VTA (VIA KT400 chipset), Hightech Excalibur Radeon 9600 PRO.
In my BIOS, which doesn't allow to alter too many things since it's a cheap motherboard, I can in a section called "Frequency/Voltage Control" manually set the CPU Clock between 100MHz and 200MHz. It was default at 166 (2,08GHz), but I changed it to 176 (approx.) and got 2,22GHz. I can also adjust the CPU voltage, and the DIMM voltage.
So with these sparse options, how do I overclock my 2800+ Barton with stock cooling within the not too extreme limits?. I'm a novice, so what settings should be tried. I have heard of 2500+ Bartons being overclocked to a 3200+, but with extra cooling.
Thanks
