1. Does a better PS really help get a higher overclock?

2. Does the IS7 read temps high?
I am gettting 45 idle, 60-65C under load

3. Is 2x 512 memory "really" worth it/ better than 2 x 256
and yes I have heard that you can never have enough RAM, etc..
I mean is it worth the extra $, I game, thats about it.

1. Possibly. Just remember with PSU's its about the quality, not the quantity. You want stable rails, that's key. Fluctuations of 5% is considered good in the psu industry. there are only a couple that are actually 1% fluctuation and it was posted a while back by a forum member and they are the fortron 350W and allied true 400W.

2. Yes, all abit boards are known to read temps high. So don't be too concerned about what the temps are. Best way is to use a temp probe and measure it directly.

3. I have 512 (2 x 256) and it's been more than enough for what I do which is mostly gaming, office, encoding, tv watching, etc...

I agree with Shimmishim, tho I run 2x512 sticks here, I think its better for apps, but I have heard many times that 2x256 will get a better OC, I don't see it here tho.

well, my 2.6 runs 3.5 on my IS7 w/ enermax 350
it wil run 3.6 on my buddies IC7 max3 w/ enermax 465
I think it's the power supply, or is it the board or both?
any ideas

I think its the board.

why don't you see if you can borrow your friends psu and try it on the is7...

i think you'll find it's the board...

BUT...

then again, i had issues running a fortron 350W on an ic7 but ran fine on a p4p800
