Overclocker needs a little help.

Okay I am new to overclocking. i am waiting to get on of the new KT133a boards, such as the MSI turbo, for a system i am building. I am planning on having the ATI All In Wonder radeon as my graphics card. It is normally rated at 166/166MHz(memory/core). I read an article on Ananadtech that said they overclocked theres to 185/185MHz. My first question is, if I overclock via FSB will the video card be my limiting factor or will I not even be able to push the FSB that far. My second question is, how exactly does the FSB work. If anyone could explain it or has a link explaining it i would appreciate. Third, what type/speed of memory would be good for this type of overclocking.


Okay I know that on the original kt133's you were very lucky to get a FSB of like 110 or something like that. What would be expected to attain from the kt133a, will it max out at like 140? See I am a little confused any explination ould be awesome. thanks.
 
Firstly, for AMD overclocking, you probably won't be doing as much FSB tweaking, due to the fact that the KT133 chipsets don't like out-of-spec speeds too much. What you hope to achieve is a combination of multiplier and FSB overclocking.

Most AGP cards nowadays can handle speeds of up to 90MHz. I'm not sure about ATI, but I suspect they should be quite comfortable with a 10MHz increase in the AGP speed. Like I said, since you won't be doing much FSB overclocking, this won't be an issue.

My KT133A motherboard, the Soltek SL-75KAV-X, won't work at anything above 133, but maybe you'll have better luck. I'd advise you to get some other brand, in particular Abit or MSI. Keep the FSB at 100 or 133, but if you want, don't go above 105 or 138 or so. Use the multiplier with these speeds and I'm sure you'll be fine.
