overclocked e6600 same as x6800?

Will a e6600 clock to 3.0 ghz have the same performance as a stock x6800?

Is the speed difference the only thing that sets them apart?

Pretty much. The E6600 would actually perform faster due to the enhanced FSB speed and the slight clock speed advantage.

Come Q2 2007, you will be able to get X6800 performance (actually, far over X6800 performance) for under $200. (think E6420)
