One of the great things about being a member of AnandTech for 7 years is that the post history is like an archive of my own computing history. This is from a thread I made about two years ago. I decided to update it and present it anew.

I've owned a lot of CPUs in the past. 95% I've bought with the sole purpose to overclock them. All of these were my primary system CPUs at one point.

Pentium 166C to 180 = 8.5%
K6-2 300 to 333 = 11%
Celeron 300A to 450 = 50%
Celeron 300A to 464 = 54%
Celeron 366 to 550 = 50%
Pentium III 450 to 600 = 33.3%
Pentium 500E to 700 = 40%
Pentium 500E to 750 = 50%
Pentium 650 to 910 = 40%
Pentium 650 to 1021 = 57%
Athlon TBird 1GHz to 1.15GHz = 15%
Athlon TBird 1.2GHz to 1.25GHz = 4.2%
Athlon TBird 1GHz to 1.35GHz = 35%
Athlon XP 1600+ 1.4GHz to 1.5GHz = 7.1%
Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53GHz to 1.6GHz = 4.4%
Pentium 4 1800MHz NW to 2520MHz = 40%
Pentium 4 2000MHz NW to 2667MHz = 33.3%
Pentium 4 2.4C to 3120MHz = 30%
Pentium 4 3.2E to 3500MHz = 9.4%
Athlon 64 3700+ 2200MHz to 2700MHz = 22.7%
Core 2 X6800 2933MHz to 3440MHz = 17.3%

Intel 14 CPUs = 36.63% average overclock
AMD 7 CPUs = 14.2% average overclock

What is your CPU overclock history?

Who the heck remembers that precisely? You lead a personal log on it or someting? :D
Well, it wasnt really an OC but I had a 8088 (never had a PC with 8086) that could be whopped from 4.77MHz to 8MHz. Ofc it was a built-in feature, hehe. Turbo XT.

Never OCd 286/386 stuff only owned them

As for real OC:

First stuff I've OCd was a 40MHz 486SX, had to change the crystal to rise the freq. Quite straight forward: pop out the old crystal 40.xxxMHz and put back in a 50MHz one. Was hot as hell.

So here are my former OCs, but I can't recall all of them precisely:

486SX 40MHz@50MHz
486DX2-66 @ 80MHz
P75@90MHz
P100 (I don't know, can't remember, possible I've never OCd it)
P120 (same thing)
P133 MMX @ 166MHz
P200 MMX @ 233MHz
PII-233 @ 350 MHz (now that was hot)
Celeron 333A @ some 415MHz (?)
PIII-450 (think I've never OCd it or it was unsuccessful)
Celeron 566 @ 700MHz (83x8.5 I think)
Celeron 600 @ 900MHz
PIII-750 (never OCd, had it for a short time only)
AMD TB 1.2GHz @ 1.4GHz (or 1.43GHz ?)
AMD something ...
Intel P4B 2.4GHz @ 3GHz
Intel P4B 3.0GHz (no oc here, bought it because of the HT)
Intel P4C 3.2GHz @ awwwww it was unstable even at around 3.4GHz
Intel P4E 3.0GHz @ 4.0 GHz
AMD A64 X2 4200+ @ 2550MHz
Intel E6300 @ 2800MHz

I mostly don't overclock my other comps because they have to be 100000% stable and run 24/7 so there are some CPUs I just can't list here because I've never OCd them.

And yessss, the store called me like two hours ago, my E6600 has arrived and I'm going to pick it up on Monday. Yessss.

Here's my major systems going back to February 2000 when I purchased the Abit BE6-II board and Celeron 366 from compuwiz1:

Abit BE6-II:
Celeron 366 @ 550 (2000) = 50%
Celeron 533 @ 800 (2000) = 50%
P3 700 @ 933 (2001) = 33%
P3 1000 @ 1333 (2002) = 33%

Nforce2:
XP 2000+ (Not OC'ed) (2002) = 0% (damn poor OCing Palominos)
XP-M 2600+ @ 2.45Ghz (2004) = 23%

Nforce3 S754:
Sempron 3100+ @ 2.6Ghz (2006) = 44%

ASRock Dual939-SATA2 S939 (2006)
X2 3800+ @ 2.65Ghz = 33%

I can remember back when I was one of the first on Anadtech to clock my 1Ghz T-bird past the 1.3Ghz mark. I felt like the king of the CPU forum!

Harris 80286-16 clocked to 80286-22.45 using a different crystal off an old Tseng VGA adapter card. The rest is a blur....... ;)
