I've owned A LOT of CPUs in the past. 95% I've bought with the sole purpose to overclock them. I got curious on this boring day and decided to see the percentage of the overclocks I've had in the past. All of these were my primary system CPUs at one point. I've only had one complete system at a time.

Pentium 166C to 180 = 8.5%
K6-2 300 to 333 = 11%
Celeron 300A to 450 = 50%
Celeron 300A to 464 = 54%
Celeron 366 to 550 = 50%
Pentium III 450 to 600 = 33.3%
Pentium 500E to 700 = 40%
Pentium 500E to 750 = 50%
Pentium 650 to 910 = 40%
Pentium 650 to 1021 = 57%
Athlon TBird 1GHz to 1.15GHz = 15%
Athlon TBird 1.2GHz to 1.25GHz = 4.2%
Athlon TBird 1GHz to 1.35GHz = 35%
Athlon XP 1600+ 1.4GHz to 1.5GHz = 7.1%
Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53GHz to 1.6GHz = 4.4%
Pentium 4 1800 NW @ 2520MHz = 40%
Pentium 4 2000 NW @ 2666MHz = 33%
Pentium 4c 2400 NW @ 3180MHz = 32.5%

Intel 12 CPUs = 40.69% average overclock
AMD 6 CPUs = 12.78% average overclock

Whats your CPU overclocking history?

Wow, I got my first computer in 1980! They weren't exactly overclockable. As a matter of fact, they didn't even have a harddrive, nor could you add any memory!! We actually had to use cassettes if we wanted to save a DOS program we had written!!!!!!! Okay, here goes...

TSR-80 (with the original 8086
rolleye.gif
)@way to slow to care (I think it was actually 1Mhz)
Intel 286@stock speed
Intel 486 (with the turbo button!)8mhz@20 Intel's last factory authorized OC! And I paid about $250 for 4x512KB sticks of ram:(
Intel 486DX4 100@120
Intel 233@266
Intel Cel.300A@450
Intel PII400@550
Athlon 600@700 I used this one forever...
Athlon 1800 1.53@1.66
Athlon 2400 2.0@2.4 but I boot to Windows @2.1, then use Clockgen when I'm gonna play games

Here's the version of Clockgen that isn't motherboard-specific. Seems like it would be the one to use on a Dell, Compaq, e-Machine, etc. I haven't tried it, since there was a version for the nForce2.
