For the $299 models

iPAQ 1910

Pros: sexy looks, smallest PocketPC EVER, thin & light, superior screen, removeable battery, 48MB RAM
Cons: no case, no cradle, only 200MHz, no SDIO support

Viewsonic V35

Pros: same weight as 1910, SDIO support, jog wheel, comes with cradle and case
Cons: feels awkward in hand due to squared off ends, inferior screen quality to 1910, only 36.5MB RAM available out of 64MB, no replaceable battery

Dell Axim Advanced

Pros: 400MHz, 64MB RAM, dual slots (CF-II & SD), removeable battery jog wheel, awesome battery life, comes with cradle and case
Cons: totally brickish shape, heavy, no SDIO

Well???

Games play a bit smoother. Higher FPS in video playback (DIVX). Overall system performance seems a bit snappier (opening menus, opening apps, etc). Battery impact is negligeable.

Only for X-Scales. Older StrongARM processors have had a utility for YEARS that overclocks and underclocks the processor from 162MHz to 236MHz:

As for the X-Scale overclockers, there are now about 4 of them out:

NFS4, before you try the 472 MHz on your 1910, beware that it causes a hard reset. On brighthand, they were talking about it before, Two people on there said that 472 causes a hard reset on there 1910. I personally own the 5455, and am loving it. Supposedly though, the 472 MHz mode works fine on XScale processors that default to 300, and turbo at 400 (iPAQ 5455, Toshiba e740, Audiovox/Toshiba e550g, Dell Axim X5 Advanced, etc...), but doesn't work on the XScale that default at 200, and turbo at 400. Just FYI, and have fun with you new iPAQ.

<EDIT> Also, I am too chicked to try it on my beloved 5455. I have a warranty, but if I use it, I must pay 100 dollars for a new warranty, but, I will not try these utilities, unless they are shown by Intel, that the XScale in my iPAQ can do greater than 400 MHz.</EDIT>

I saw that post too. My iPAQ has been running at 300MHz since Wednesday. I might try the 398MHz option. It appears to be working just great:

From the forums:
I just ran the new one at 398

Benchmarks were

float 11.26
interger 23.98
bitblt 50.04
stretchblt 0.90
ellipse 2.68
rectangle 4.90
rounded rect 2.07
allocation 9.79
fill 0.72
move .38
text 4.21

As opposed to 300MHz:

Floating PT: 9.39
Integer: 19.89
BitBlt: 60.39
StretchBlt 0.85
Ellipse 3.07
Rectangle 5.45
Rounded Rect 2.53
Allocation 9.35
Fill 0.89
Move 0.44
Text 5.65

You should be able to do 472MHz; afterall the 3955 uses the same 400MHz processor as the Dell Axim Advanced, e740, and 5455
