Overclock with RDRAM system

guys i am having 1.5G P4 willamate 423 and 256 (128x2)Infinion + 256 Samsung RDRAM on P4T board.

So i would like to overclock in order for me to play commanche4 and all games follow on. P4T allows FSB changing with a fix of 15 multiplier and RDRAM x3 or x4.

so i tried 120 FSB with x4 RDRAM, it hang; x3 RDRAM, it hangs as well.

i have no choice but stick to FSB118 which boost my 1.5G to 1.77G.

Q1: what should i put on RDRAM multiplier? x4 will go to 944MHz or 472MHz per channel. i read from anantech P4T review saying that RDRAM is not good for overclocking and we shoulc not go anything above 900MHz. But if i use x3, i will only get 708MHz or 354MHz which is much less than the RAM default of 800/400MHz.

Q2: if i could gain stability with 944MHz RDRAM, should i stay with it? will it cause any damage to RAM or overheating??

Q3: should i increase the Vcore in order to gain FSB higher than 118? will it cause any damage to CPU?? i need speed but i have bigger concern on the CPU reliability as i have no budget or dont wish to change my system in 1-2 yrs time.

any experience or experts pls help to make me clear...

I think that your overclocking may be limited by your CPU. I used to have a Williamette 1.7 478 in a Abit- TH7-2 that I could wouldn't overclock very well. I had 1024 MB of Samsung Rdram (4x256). I could only get up to 18xx mhz with the chip, I later got a 1.8 ghz northwood that let me get 2.1. Rdran does limit you a bit. Your motherboard will not take a 478 Northwood. Although I believe that adapters are available, but I don't know if you can go with a Northwood.

i'm pretty satisfy with 1.77G as it increase my Commanche4 frame rate pretty enough. No more lag in messy scene compared with 1.5G. not thinking of upgrading CPU due to $$ now.

so my concern is still on Q1 and Q2 above, any body??
