Overclock Testing

Hi, I just overclocked my computer and i thought I'd run the quake 3 test overnight. does anyone know how to start the q3 test?? i kno that u press ` to get to the console but then what do u type into the console.

A better test might be Prime95. If you're CPU is having any kinds of problems, Prime95 will let you know.

I would agree with him on Prime95. When I am testing I run Q3 demo loops (10 loops at a time) as a quick test. I bump up the FSB until I can find lockup. When I find lockup, I back off a few bus clicks and run Prime 95 Torture Test for at least 6 hrs. If you can run it for 6 hrs with no errors detected your CPU will be fine.

I like the "Burn-in Wizard" feature on SiSoft Sandra 2001. You can configure which tests you want it to run, and how many times for it to run the loop of tests. You can even set it to loop the tests continuously!🙂

there's another software called the burn-in test by passmark software and it is quite a good software for testing your processor as well.

spoon what version of prim95 are you runnning and where did you get it.
