I am newbie to overclocking. Please give your thoughts on how I can go to 3.5GHz.

Config is:
E6600@3019MHz(Multiplier-9)@1.225V(BIOS setting)@47C-100%
Asus P5WDH@BusSpeed-335MHz@FSB-1341MHz@38C-100%
Stock Cooler@1730-1760RPM at 100% load
MushkinHP2 PC2-6400@5-4-4-11@838MHz (4:5)@2.0V
OCZ Gamestream 700W
PowerUp case (250mm side fan, 120mm front fan, Cooler Master 120MM Rear Case Fan)

MCH and ICH are auto voltage. The AI Booster tool shows PCI-E at 1.5V.
Virtualization - enabled
SpeedStep and EIST - disabled
Q-Fan - Disabled
RAM settings - Manual. SPD Disabled

0. Are my voltage and temps ok? Stable - I stopped Prime95 after 6 hours.

1. I'd like the stock fan to go higher. Can I set this? Where can I do this?

2. When I hook the rear exhaust fan (Cooler Master 120MM Case Fan 3PIN 1220RPM) to chassis fan socket on MB, boot fails with overclocking failed or voltage not sufficient message. The fan requires 12V. How can I connect to MB?

3. How do I go higher? Do I need a 1:1 setting for RAM with a lower multiplier? I've run into the wall at even 350Mhz bus speed.

Not with stock cooler...If you had an aftermarket cooler on that exact system no you liekly would load in the high 30's....The stock hsf is only going to suffer the higher you go and the more vcore you give it...you see it is about the coefficent of the cooler and the stock coolers always tend to be on the low side...

Thanks Duvie. I am hoping to get one soon.

I also notice that my chassis fans are not anywhere near full throttle. This is probably because they are connected directly to the PSU. So I connected chassis fans to MB hoping to regulated their speed. But, then I ran into the message on voltage. I have no clue how to solve that.

trOver - I am on Auto setting and now at 1.2V. Memory also down to 1.95V and stable!!!

Is there anyway I can set this in BIOS? Vcore starts at 1.225V

why are you guy stoping at 3 GHz? 6600 can probably be pushed to 3.6 Ghz give or take and stay under 55C core temp...

Try 1.325 volts in bios and push the FSB towards 400...
