Overburn Maximum?

What burning software should I use to achieve maximum overburn?

I have Memorex 40x media and I have a 750 meg file I need to burn onto a CD.

If I can't overburn that much, do you think I should try zipping it up?

I think the max is around 725-730 mbs. For your 750 mb file I would recommend splicing it up into 2 files - a 700 mb file and a 50 mb. The program I use for this is called hjsplit. Check it out at www.freebyte.com

Yeah I agree, I personally don't overburn past about 710mb (generic CD-R's) but I think 725mb on decent CD-R's is possible.

Imation I think do white top 730mb discs that may overburn to 750mb, or you could get some of the higher capacity disks, I have some Intenso 800mb discs that burn to around 815mb.

Yeah, if you have a newer burner you could try picking up a 90 or 99 min CD which has extra capacity over an 80min or 74min CD. I'm not sure 90/99 min CD's work with older drives.
