Not to bust your bubble, but 279k on 3 engines is nothing to write home about. 250k is pretty much expected out of a well cared for engine.

This. Not good at all.
 
Completely agree Greenman, it's not fantastic performance, except the 1st engine was a lemon that crapped out sub 100k miles, second engine lasted about 170k miles which was pretty decent seeing that it was a used import engine. The 3E-E line of Tercel engines aren't fantastic in its durability but overall the car holds up well.
