I wake up with a dead arm all the time.

I have also separated my shoulder AND hyper extended my elbow in my sleep. Yay me.

I hate when one of my legs falls asleep during the day. Then it will be up all night.

WTF does fish intake have to do w/ this condition???
EDIT--------> There does seem to be *some* correlation to mercury intake from fish consumption and numbness or tingling, but not directly related to nightime sleep habits or particularly arms falling asleep. Still, might be worth cutting all fish from your diet for a month & see if things change for you.

FWIW, to the OP, I've had this on and off since being an adult. I typically tuck one arm or the other up under the pillow as part of my routine to "getting comfy" before zonkin' out.

It's funny 'cuz it took me reading this to realize it hasn't happened to me in a while......(few months or so).

I have no idea why it happens & rec'v yearly physicals & am in descent physical condition, so I don't think it's that. I think it's just a sleeping habit thing. No biggie.

P.S. Kinda' funny (weird, not ha-ha) when you wake up & it feels like you have a piece of wood for an appendage.......

Just use your peripherals more, make sure the blood is flowing. Run around crazy or whatever you need to do, just use them and that won't happen.
