Over Clocking Help!

Hi guys, Im trying to overclock my i5-4690k, other hardware i have includes a gtx970, corsair h100i cooler, cx600m power supply and two hard drives. I also have the z97-ar motherboard.

At First i tried setting the over clock at 4.0 giga hertz and 1.3 volts. which i thought would be more than enough for that over clock. But i constantly keep getting blue screens. i noticed when i rebooted into the bios that the voltage said 1.529 on the side so i tried 1.6 as the voltage and the same thing keeps happing. I was under the impression that my voltage would not need to any where near that high for a simple 4.0 overclock.

any help would be great,
thanks guys!
