So, I have had my 8120 core clocked in my Asus fx 990 mobo for over a year now, paired with a Sapphire hd 7950. I finally got around to installing a third party heatsink (ets-t40) , and it is keeping my cpu idling at 27-29 c.
So, I'm thinking it's time to overclock, and while I understand the basic ideas, I'm not an expert. I know some people use software, and some use the mobo bios screen.
So what would you guys suggest? How far can I push the chip, realistically? I'm not against voltage tampering, but would like to avoid it if possible.
Thanks!
