Now it seems like the perfect time to test it, stress it....

Important things to look at....

1)temps...yes boads vary on this but try to stay under 50c idle and no more then high 50's load...

2)voltages...Look at your monitoring program of choice and make sure you look at the +12v rail, and also see what the actual vcore is being delivered...What you set in the bios often doesn't mean crap...Stay below 1.65v (IMO) with these p4c's....

I would then stress test this with prime95 to start...I would do it for 6-12 hours
I would run memtest with all test and cache on for 10 passes
Then I would run programs you use.....If you do any video editing or encoding run these programs as it seems many are quite sensitive to ocing and sometimes more sensitive to ram and mobo chipset timing issuie then prime95 and memtest alone...

Help! I have the same board:Albatron PX865PE Pro 2. Just got it. Newbie on OC. Went up 5mHz increments on fsb. windows loaded fine until i did 220mHz. wouldnt load windows. I have OCZ 2x512 3200 platinum. I tried changing cas between 2.5, 2.0, 3.0 . . . nothing. tried pci/agp at default ratio and 33/66. . . nothing. I tried raising voltage to 1.550, 1.575. . . nothing. I need some info please. . . anybody have some instructions? thanks in advance :)

You're probably reaching the max that your ram can do running ratio 1:1 go in your bios & set you ram ratio to 5:4 then you'll be able to go further.

I agree with above drop the ddr ratio to 5:4 or 3:2 until we find the cpu limit....

Also if I recall a few things about that board it undervolts a bit...So cause you are giving it 1.575v in the bios doesn't mean that is what it is getting...I have seen those things undervolting .05 to .07v meaning you may be giving it defult 1.522 or less when you have bios set to 1.575....Check that out.....

BUmp vagp to 1.6v and vdimm to 2.8v...those are both safe with these modern boards and dimms....

Well, I've got the CPU at 250(3.25GHz, 38 degreesC). RAM is at 5:4. It finishes SiSoft CPU and Mem/Cache Benches with high results. But won't finish even the first 3DMark test. What should I have my PCI/AGP/SRC freqs at?(what exactly is SRC?) I've tried it at several different settings. Auto/Auto/Auto, 66.3/33.7/100, 66.3/33.7/Auto . . . Nothing seems to help. I'm pretty sure it's the CPU to PCI/AGP that is stopping me. Any suggestions?

AGP should be at 66MHz & PCI at 33MHz.No idea about SRC!

What's your CPU vcore at?

SiSoft and MBM5 show 1.54V. Rated @1.55V. I heard this Mobo undervolts so maybe this is a problem?

AGP/PCI should be at 66/33 regardless of CPU speed?

Right,I take it you've never overclocked before ,would of been worth mentioning that;)

If you've overclocked your CPU to the point where its not completely stable(assuming RAM hasn't hit its limit) then the next step is to increase the vcore by 1 notch (to start with) or to drop the FSB a little.

Re 2nd question ,err yeah ,I believe the 865 chipset has a AGP/PCI lock.
Can someone else confirm this?
