Over 60 wildfires raging in Texas

Good luck to everyone down there, stay safe. In those last two pictures posted, why didn't they just clear the land near the house? Looks like smaller pines & seems that you could probably clear a 50 foot or so circle in a couple hours.

Environmentalists keep us from being able to clear certain things out here, might kill a spotted grasshopper or something...

And the firefighters are doing an amazing job out here, it could very easily have been 10 times worse in this area.

They're starting to pop up in the San Antonio area. There were fires burning in Stone Oak yesterday, and also a small one in Selma - that's too close. No rain in sight but at least it cooled off a bit.

Someone please update this thread if they hit new braunfels.

I'm amazed at ATOT's heartlessness. I know that we often poke fun at people around here, but this is a natural disaster on a massive scale that is not yet under control. Just because you dislike Rick Perry, don't take that hatred out on innocent people that have just lost everything. I think that many of you would be shocked to see how the Southeners that you so despise are helping their neighbors and gathering donations for the firefighters and for the displaced people.

In short, fuck off.
