When stuff like this happens in an Islamic shit hole, its a head line for a few days and then back to the weather.

Well for these extremists who kill innocent people, it is a religion thing. In their minds, they deserve death because they don't practice the exact specific type of Islam are another group.

Here, it's more or less still a cultural thing, usually over "turf" or drugs, etc etc. Mainly gang violence.

It is sad these kids were killed... but Pakistan hid Bin Laden for years and leaves large swaths of territory to the Taliban. Also add to the fact that this type of religious violence is common in that country... so don't be too offended when it does not get the press coverage like in Australia or other incidents in non-muslim dominated countries..

Because invading Afghanistan and Iraq improved those countries?

Outside a counter genocide to eliminate anyone who even hints of smelling like a Taliban, where we kill millions, there's no direct short term answer. NO ONE on this planet has control over tribal regions.

The goal should be to reduce the base tribalism found there. The problem is the use of force / violence is counter to improved conditions. They need a local strongman / military to establish their own order. That too, will be paid in blood.

Yeah, because media was blase about Newtown. Murders in the weekly blotter are one thing. Massacres of school children are another. No, this story won't dominate Western news for weeks on end, but it is the top international story today by far.

It's something I have no control over, my country has no control over. What are we going to do about it?
