ok I read pretty much everything on these forums on ocing

here's something I searched and cant find

here's my problem

I currently have the 2x1gb hp 667 ram in my p35a
oced to 724 @ 1.9volt

I have vista x86 (32bit)

so I want to get another 2x512 to max out the memory
do I go and get 2 more sticks of 667 or 800?

Buy whichever you want. The PC5300 that you have installed now won't suddenly become faster, if you add some PC6400. But, it really makes a bit more sense to get PC6400 this time, here's why: your next system will definitely need PC6400, and then you would only have to replace two of your four sticks.

so either is fine?

for some reason I thought if I had 667 ram and 800 ram, it will mess up the mem ratio

You should have ALL the sticks rated exactly the same (frequency, timings, voltage), or instability might occur.

The PC2 6400 MIGHT run at PC2 5300 speed stable, but it is extremely unlikely that the 667MHz memory will be stable at 800MHz.

All PC6400 will run stable @ 333 Mhz. The only time it's ever a problem is when the BIOS doesn't have the ability to force timings/speeds, like with a notebook.

I don't intend to dispute your statements, but my 667 memory would not run at 533 on ASRock 775Dual-VSTA.

And I bet that you would NEVER get a mis-match like that, would you...?
