Well if you are so bold and wish to start this new trend of making fun of negative behavior. Why dont you come to DC and do a few jokes at Ballou High School. Then lets see what the outcome will become.

And then you can come and make fun of and ridicule racists at Rising Sun, MD.

I totally agree with you on this!

I think to be fair someone should have an all black party where everyone dresses up like our white founding father's, powdered wigs and all, and drink tea and talk politics.

Or perhaps dress up as white founding fathers and act out the killing of million of Indians.

Well for starter the girl dressed as Aunt Jemima has nothing to do with a negative culture behavior. This is a clear poke at slavery and the sambo era. The point being this was thoughtless and has no part on a college campus. If you want to do this crap make a movie or do it in your own home on your own time.

THey were doing it on there own time. Aunt jemima as a slavery symbol is not the fault of the students as the aunt jamima icon has been around since probably before their parents were born.

So what do you think the school should do about it? Kick them out? Suspend them? Issue a formal frowning?

The officials should dress up and party all night.

I also will say that the parents of these stupid fscks should be ashamed. I for one will not feed my childern this type of BS. Be it about blacks, hispanics, asian etc. Racism has no place in the USA. We are all in this thing called freedom together.

Want to end this kind of stuff? Save your scorn for blacks who are gangsters and perpetuate the stereotype.

I love how people will at attack someone for making fun or critizizing a negative side of a culture, while doing little to nothing to end that part of the culture.

At least Bill Cosby and Chris Rock got it right.

Dude the same goes for poor white trailer trash but you dont hear or see me taking pictures dress as them nor do I judge.

Funny, I see black comedians (and white ones, for that matter) making fun of rednecks all the time. No one whines.

Actually they do. I know many comedians who dislike all the one sided racist jokes dished out by black comedians. And for the record what occured is far from such an event.

What occurred was a party in which people made fun of negative stereotypes in popular black culture. Which should be done FAR more often. Nothing stops bad behavior better than scorn and ridicule. Unfortunately, far too many think that behavior is "cool" and imitate it.

How would you feel if society as a whole decided that weight lifting and body building in general was socially unacceptable and everyone started making fun of you and ridiculing you for it? Would that be okay with you?

Ah yes... when all else fails, make them fear you.

I point and laugh every time I see someone dressed like that. Of course, it helps that I'm a rather large body builder.

Look; scorn, ridicule, or fear... it doesn't matter which... ALL are reactions to this culture and THIS currently is the main reason for the disparity between blacks and whites in the US today.

Or perhaps dress up as Africans and act out the selling of million of slaves.

Fixed.

Pick a race. I can go all day.

It was a party with a bunch of white kids making fun of black people.

Don't you remember, you can only make fun of white people. Making fun of black people is against the law.

Except quite a few weren't white

Body building and weight lifting are not self destructive and self deprecating. Gangster culture and everything derived from it is Nice try, though.

Now, if I started dressing like Al Capone and everyone made fun of me, I'd realize what a stupid little tool I was.

You can make fun of asians too because they won't fight back.

We figure we'll just try to outbreed the other races.

In the end, it will come down to a battle between the Asians and the Hispanics. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE![

More like there can only be one trillion

Dude honestly I would love to meet you sometime and just talk. I think that dicussions like this end on a bad note via the internet. However something about face to face time seems to change things. I still dont feel this behavior is appropriate. illegal no but very inappropriate.

Society generally ridicules and scorns unhealthy behavior. It's one way of discouraging behavior without making it ulawful. So your example is irrelevent.

or put on a suit and tie and act out embezzling money and flying the company jet to a lavish party at our tuscan villa then dumping all our inflated stocks right before the quarterly numbers arrive.

Is being racist illegal now?

It may not be illegal but I'm sure it breaks some school policies. It's not like anyone was arrested. Just the protest to the injustices of the world by the young. Give them a few years and they'll become cynical and bitter and pretty much forget about the troubles of the world.

What policies are they breaking?

OK, I'll give a little and say that doing this on MLK day was in bad taste. However, I see nothing wrong with making fun of negative stereotypes.

If we met we'd go out, have a few beers and forget all about these silly things while we pick up on a few little bar sluts. 😀

Ahh yes, the unaccountability and anonymity of the internet rears it's ugly head again.

It is ridiculed often. Weight lifters are portrayed as dumb oafs who can't do a damn thing with their lives except lift weights. Not to mention, I wear XL t-shirts and most of them are pretty "fit" on me and people always make fun of people who lift weights wearing medium sized shirts to show off their muscles.

I like it when I tell people I am a software engineer and they are shocked because I don't look like the "typical" software engineer.

There are a LOT of things I do that are made fun of constantly ... lift weights, am hardcore into video games, program software. The list could go on. Does it bother me? not in the least. If people tell me I'm a geek for playing video games on a Friday night, screw them.

And as others have said, weight lifting has positive results, not negative.

That's fine. It wouldn't matter to me. Because that was then and this is now.
You cannot walk into the future backwards. Or something like that.
I don't like black people. I don't like white people. I don't like red people. I don't like yellow people.

But I do like my friends. And my family. Everyone else and their stereotypes and their opinions just don't really matter.

Except when I am driving.

When I am driving, and you do something stupid, I will mix ethnic slurs with various random curse words.

What policies are they breaking?

Could be any number. For example:
-No glass bottles.
-Restrictions on amounts of alcohol
-Restrictions on number of people without registering a party
-Restrictions on number of girls/guy (social policy)
-Underage drinking
-Drinking games
