output video to vga only!

hi,

hope this is in the right place...

my laptop screen broke, but everything else is working fine.

i have plugged in a vga monitor from the vga output. during boot it shows whats happening on the monitor but when windows loads it switches off and presumably only going to the internal lcd, which is broken.

so how do i get the video to only come out from the vga port?

have looked in the bios but no help there!

its a toshiba r10 101 tablet laptop

Many laptops use Fn+F5 for changing display modes. Also, see if starting in VGA mode (press F8 at startup) does anything.

ill try the f8 at startup,

but i installed vista and it didnt have keyboard drivers so cant do the fn+f5 thing

any other ideas?

For vista, isn't it Fn+F4? regardless of drivers.

i reinstalled the recovery disk and than did fn+f5 and it worked
