that blue heatspreader is cool. thats why i am still wondering if i should get it on my custom budget rig im building

but at 149.99, thats almost the same price i paid for my mobo case and CPU :(

ummm.....they have the 512MB for 69.99 so you can get two of these for less. Why pay a premium to get the "dual channel" kit ?

why the kit, because if you buy 2 single 512MBs you might not get a matched pair and then you're not getting dual channel according to what I've been reading

Thats a gimick. You do not have to have matched pairs to have proper dual channel support. Just another way for companys to get a extra few bucks.
