I agree with ignorus about making it $50. They should hve tried it in incremental steps. I ordered from them all the time. I don't think I'll ever order a $100 worth from them.
Do I understand that it is a flat fee and not per item? That wouldn't be too bad then.

I am glad I used my free flooz last week. They even delivered overnight package on saturday :).

My credit card company would not like this!

I guess they will raise their prices too.

Sleepy mod must be on duty. When I posted the first thread about Onvia dropping its free shipping and raising prices it got locked after a few posts.

Great ride while it lasted! I doubt that I will ever use Outpost again though. It was the free overnight that got my credit card out of my wallet. It is inevitable that these retailers are going to fail. Most financial experts are predicting the only survivors in the long run will be retailers with both a B&M and an online presence.

I just tried to get an up-date on my Ti order , waited on hold for over an hour and a half B/4 I gave up. I guess their free shipping is not the only thing that is gone.

Isn't it interesting most of the people here who shopped at Outpost only bought CDRs and $5 items? Trust me, your business won't be missed. They were losing or making no money on these orders.

Free ride is over and internet shopping is officially a bust. Thanks to all the VCs and investors who helped finance all my purchases. I have a feeling this forum will be a graveyard in a few months.

I've been a member here since the Stone Age, trust me...Outpost or any of the other vendors that go south in the near future aren't gonna stop the deal hounds here from saving money.

Supafreak--huh? I put a 50-pack of CD-R's in my basket, and the order would be $12.95 (choke...) to ship.

Everyone said that when coupons were officially outlawed, Anandtech was supposed to be dead also. Anandtech will still be here long after most of us are gone......:)

Man this EATS THE BIG CHEESE.

Oh well, I thought Outpost and Airborne were doing a 'joint' thing or something it just plain didn't make sense to FREE ship overnight even the cheapest things and stay afloat.

Maybe now my CDR spindle impulse buying will slow down.

DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT! Now I'm thinkin I should've gotten another spindle of them good 50 spindle FujiFilm 700mb/80min jobs.

Outpost will be a dead dot.com before july 2001. First off, while I
am going to my website to change my affilliate links that say free
shipping On second thought Outpost links will just be deleted from my
site. Thanks for the advance notice regarding the shipping changes. I
also suggest that you remove the below comments from customers from your
site as they are no longer true. i'd suggest that Outpost change to a
shipping method more reasonable like free shipping on 25$ or more.

For now, Outpost has lost my business not only as a customer but as an
affilliate also.

thanks alot Outpost

Take a look-
"The free over night shipping was the deciding factor in my purchase,
that's the best thing I've seen on the web."

"Made a purchase 1am Saturday night. Received it Monday morning 11am.
Cost was a fraction of what I would have paid in a retail store and
almost as fast at getting it."

"I've ordered many times from Outpost. Their prices are competitive and
scheduled delivery is excellent. I've told several friends and they're
ordering from Outpost now too!"

Think everyone is missing the big picture here:

Once the weak dot coms fall by the way side, the remaining players - Staples, for example - will have no reason to give us coupons or - dare I suggest - PM's (if there was anyone left to PM):(:Q:frown::disgust:

Look at Best Buy - adding a $4 service charge for the privilege of ordering online, which saves them $$$ - BOYCOTT BB UNTIL THEY DROP THE SHIPPING CHARGE!

What is the future for online purchases: Look at the Circuit City or CompUSA model: Browse their selection, check availability at the local stores and place orders for pick up - allowing you to avoid their salesmen and make sure they have the item in stock before making the trip to the B & M.

I think JCPenney's has the internet sales model down. I'm a stockholder, and they have consistantly made a really decent amount of money from their internet sales quarter after quarter. They don't have super-hot deals, but they do have clearance and coupons. Just not outrageous coupons. Remember when buy.com had $10 off, no min.? Or VA dollars? Those days are gone forever.
