Outpost is going to see a HUGE drop in business now. I bet they'll start laying off CSR's within a month.

They have lost my business for any item under $100.00, that's for damn sure.

Honestly, their shipping deals were too good to be true. As with the "old" Onvia.com, we should be thankful that this awesome deal lasted as long as it did. For those who will no doubt bitch and moan about this policy change, do you really think that Outpost or Airborne made any money whatsoever from overnighting and delivering to your door a spindle of blank CDs for $9.95? A even better question is probably this: How much money did they LOSE on every CD-R spindle or other cheap item they delivered to you overnight?

Thinking about all this reminded me of the way PC Connection operated until like 3 or 4 years ago. They also used to ship next day via Airborne. You could order up until some ridiculous time like 3AM and still get your product by 10AM that same morning since their warehouse was apparently right next to an Airborne hub. And to top it all off, they would only charge $5 (I think it was $5, but if not it was definitely less than $10) to ship any order no matter how large.

<sniff> And now I'm going to sob quietly in the corner.

Hey the best we can say is that it was fun while it lasted..

And to get free shipping, just consolidate your orders.. plus as others have mentioned, 12.95 for overnight shipping in the long run isn't all that bad... plus, on a big order, it's still free, which has to cost them more..

oh well, instead of 50 pk spindles, my next order will be for 10 50pk spindles ;-) what will I do with 500 CD-rs?

Now we have to buy all the cables and small items at B&M.
I used to get it at Onvia, Outpost and Mychase.com (they used to have free shipping if you register as member for free).

Glad I still submitted that order on some backordered stuff. Shipping would added on a hefty "tax".

In Before The Lock... I mean "No-More-Free-Shipping"

Ohhh what a shame, no more free shipping...:Q
The reason I like Outpost is because I can always use them to PM with Staples.

Well, my deep thanks to Outpost, because of you, I was able to get couple of very good deals from Staples. So long now....

Just wish they would offer standard shipping at a cheaper rate. I'm not going to shell out $8.95 to ship anything less than $100. $3.95 for standard shipping? Could still entice me if the deal is good and I can use my Flooz.

I think they should have made it $50 for next day (sort of like staples). Glad I did my price match against them a couple days ago instead of waiting until this weekend :)

Their last "overnight" promise promise was a joke. It took them 5 days to deliver overnight and it was in stock.

And losing customers that weren't profitable to begin with is a bad thing? Good for them, I say.

fitzm: not true at all, most of time they delivered overnight as promised. It depends what time of the day you order i guess, but usually i reccieved all of my stuff 2nd day if not overnight.
