For anyone buying this...
when i made the purchase for $99...shipping was given to me as $5.95 for UPS ground...
Then i decided to click the other choices and see how much they were...i figured they were more which they were, but when i returned to the original shipping type, UPS ground, it came to $5.35, not $5.95...so if and when you order this, OR ANYTHING from outpost, make sure you browse thru the shipping types...it may be lower than what is shown...

I have that $99 DDR Pc2100 that Outpost had last week. It sucks. It can't even run stable at 133mhz. I don't know about the transcend, but this stick has the model number from the post above saying it could be a 200 instead of 266. Such a hassle to return this thing.

yes sir...called them and the CSR told me to forward him the email confirmation which stated i should've been charged $114.95, as opposed to $144.95. supposedly, he will file the credit refund tomorrow.

Well, chips are toshiba TC59WM807BFT-80

Now, can anyone check if I am right ?

1- Does the -80 at the end mean 80ns?
2- Does it mean that 1/80ns = 125Mhz?
3- Does it mean that if I run the memory at 133Mhz I would be overclocking.
4- Does it mean that the memory is DDR250 ???

Does it mean that I paid for a PC2100 memory and it is not ??

I think Outpo$t has gotten a new trick up their sleeve. The last 2 orders I have made have had a huge jump in price from the checkout to the shipped price. They must detect a hotdeal and up the price with some type of software. That is about all I can figure. I am planning to file a complaint with the BBB. I think if they know about the pricing error they should feel obligated to correct the problem before we anandtechers start raising the Bull$hit flag. It is FRAUD to charge 2 prices. We should not take this kind of treatment lightly.

Remember when outpost sent out all the apolgy letters asking people to use them again. I do. I come down to this: If you do a fair business people will come back. If you don't you will be deafened by the sound of silence.

support the military by supporting companies that ship to us.

This is not real PC2100 memory as Bira has pointed out. It isn't even Transcend memory. I called Transcend and they said that the label on the memory and the imprint in the PCB should say Transcend. This memory we got is Delta Omega brand memory. The guy from Transcend took the time to look up Delta Omega for me and they actually manufacture memory. I hope people don't look down on Transcend because Outpost falsely advertised it as PC2100 and Transcend brand. I just called Outpost to return it. They said they will pay the return shipping (They should since I freaking wasted my time dealing with this, DAMN IT)

Update me if you guys sqeeze any discounts out of Outpost. I didn't get any reparations.

UPDATE:

Called back and inquired about a discount for my trouble and they gave me a discount on Mushkin regular ddr item #3110000 for $119 or Mushkin cool item#3100000 for $134. I took the mushkin cool that people got for $119 last week. They also gave me free 2nd day shipping.

What might have happened is that they saw the price error and sent the cheap delta-omega memory instead.

I had never bought from them before, so I don't know if this is true, but my package(box) was sealed and opened and sealed again with a packing tape saying (Opened and Repacked by Outpost Employee For Your Added Protection). Was that the time they replaced the memories ?

Spanky, if you plan to keep the memories remember that the chips are intended for running at 125Mhz (If I am right), thus if you are running at 133Mhz, you are overclocking.

These pages are from Delta-Omega Memories.

Home Web Page
Memories Modules
Chip Part Numbers ( Look for Toshiba - Only 128mb DDR available )

You can see that -8 DDR chips are PC200.

This thread is interesting. I didn't buy my memory from outpost.com, but my DDR memory has Nanya chips on it, but has the same logo as mentioned in this thread.

I was wondering who actually made my ddr memory stick. But the numbers printed on my chips are totally different than what is mentioned in this thread. My chips say Nanya on them.

Thanks for the links to their homepage Bira, at least now I know who to contact for a warranty.
