Pretty good speakers for the cheap. Picked up 4 of these, a matching center, a HK AVR 340, a Mirage S12 Sub, and a Sharp Aquous 37" LCD for under $2500. Pretty dang hard to beat :p

Edit: Oops! Thought these were the R30s for $40/piece. Still a pretty good deal for these speakers! :)

yes, you need some sort of amplifier.

i'd suggest a sonic impact t-amp from parts express.

fry's in my area didn't have any R15s, much less have them for $40 a pair

You need an amplifier. A Sonic Impact T-Amp is great for hooking these up to a PC. Note that it should cost between $20-$30 but without the AC adapter. If you've got a bunch of computer junk you also probably have a 12v 1 to 1.5 Amp power adapter (common with many switches and other network devices).

Doh - ElFenix beat me to it :).

Yeah, I'm using the Super T-Amp right now with some AV123 XL-S's. Its amazing what this little amp can do.

Guys, i'm about to order these but i have a few more questions:

1. how many watts are the speakers? i cant find it anywhere
2. would these speakers + the sonic impact be much of an upgrade from my Z-560
3. how does the amp hook up to the computer? USB?

thanx

Thanks for the heads up on that Sonic T-Amp. This should be perfect for my wedding ceremony on the beach in a month. I needed a cheap battery powered amp and mic for the officiant. Unfortunately parts express is out of stock for two months and I had to order it from Target through Amazon for $5 more.

ps- It seems odd they list it as a "loud speaker" not speakerS, but THEN "sold as pairs" on next line.
Makes me think it MAY not be $39/pair but $39ea , but who knows for sure till the order is processed and shipped...

Anyone heard these before? Considering those + a Sonic T-Amp + my laptop.

They only sell these in pairs as far as I know (their boxed together not individually).

They sound ok, but I doubt you'll be blown away by them. They are a little lacking in bass, but are adequate for most things. They're far from bad, but don't think you're getting $200+ speakers for $40 or anything.

For less than $100 total, these paired with a T-amp will sound quite good, I'd say better than what most people are used to.

As for how the T-amp hooks up to your computer, you I believe you'll need a mini-pin to RCA cable (single mini-pin to Left/Right) to hook up the T-amp to your PC.

They're pairs. They're boxed together.

You can also get a cheap amp at radioshack right now. It's the accurian receiver but it can be easily modded to act as an amp.

We need a seperate Euro section. Deals like this make me cry :( They don't export.

We need both Euro, and international, so if it's a Euro specific deal, it's only Europe valid. But if it's international, then it's valid anywhere in the world, including the US and Europe.

:(

I see em at that price too. Guess the deal ended already. I was excited hoping I'd get a good priced pair of Polk speakers to replace my current speakers..

I concur. Just called DFW's Fry's in Plano which has 10 pairs in stock for $39.99 + tax.

I guess I'm insane then :p
I don't see "pair" anywhere

EDIT: thought you were talking about the monoblocks, didn't realize the speakers went back to the $129 price.
