any reason that outlook is taking a while to open ?

it's the file that hold all your outlook info (email, contacts, calender, tasks, etc). You file is probably way too big. You need to archive.

what is archive? my dbx inbox file is 42mb. Could I choose to compact folders in outlook express? I went ahead and compacted folders in outlook express. Now oe opens quickly. Thanks.

now oe doesn't open quickly after a day. But it does open up quickly only after I reboot the machine from being on the entire day with multiple people using the computer during the day. There is an admin and a guest profile.

My oe is still not opening as quickly. If i reboot the machine after compressing folder it will open up quickly maybe once or twice for the entire duration until maybe the next reboot.

how much ram to do you have in your computer? It sounds like you have a resource problem. You might have too many people (accounts) running too many apps at once.
