I get this when I try to send and receive for new e-mails.

This is the story. I upgraded my Office to Office 11 Beta 2. It was really buggy so I uninstalled Beta 2 and reinstalled Office XP. Now I'm getting this error! Will I have to format to make things right again??
 
Go into your email accounts settings (Tools, Email accounts) and make sure everything in there is correct. If you don't see a problem, remove the accounts, REBOOT, then go back in and set them up again.

 
odd, my outlook quit working for my POP3 account recently too, and i'm about to format cuz NOTHING i do gets it to work!
 
I seem to be experienceing the same problem. I have Outlook XP. Everything was running fine, then all of the sudden, when I press Send/Receive, I get an annoying message "The Operation Failed". I've added another account - same problem. Any ideas?

I have noticed that I can send my mail by going to Tools -->Send/Receive -->Send ALL, still no receive.


*****Update : Added a profile with the same pop info and it worked. Went into the default profile, deleted the accounts, rebooted, reinstalled and I can send and receive*****
