Outlook Send/Receive pops up at odd times

I know I have this correctly set up, but if I send/receive in Outlook 2002, and the window will go away, like 10 seconds later when I'm on and doing something else, the send/receive window will pop up in my task bar flashing. Sure enough it's only telling me task completed successfully. What the heck is wrong with this thing? It is SOOO annoying. I am running off of a .pst file that was created in Outlook 2000, and imported into 2002. Service Pack 1 is installed and I tried to repair the installation with no glory.
Any ideas?
 
We use an exchange server at my job and mine does the same thing. Except mine sits for 2-3minute and isn't useable while it's connected. Our IT guy doesn't knwo what to make of it as he's never seen it do it on any of the other machines. I've tried everything and can't get it to go away...
 
Someone else with a similar problem to me. Anyone know how to fix this? Maybe a registry key which isn't getting switched properly?
