Outlook problem

We are in an Exchange server environment..

client machine has Outlook 2000 installed, running on WinXPsp2.

Send/Receive does nothing. The only way to have anything in the outbox sent, or to get a new message, is to click on an existing message and have it show up in the preview pane...otherwise, emails don't come into the inbox, and messages don't get sent out of the outbox..

Any ideas what is going on?

Indeed. Sounds like a botched or corrupted client install.

when setting up the outlook profile, it asks for the exchange server name...and below that is the check box for cached items...make sure that box is unchecked...
just guessing...either that or you are having WINS/DNS problems...just guessing...
