Outlook express, why does AIM keep opening when I want to check my mail?

it's a new "feature" you can turn it off in the preferences.

I have the option for log on to AIM automatically unchecked. Any other ideas?

uninstall outlook express and use Outlook

i had a problem with all my aim buddies popping up in my address book in out look express....if this is also the case there is an option that says do u want this program to be your main messaging program or something to that affect...just uncheck and good to go

I couldn't turn it off in either outlook express or in AIM, therefore I unstalled the obtrusive POS.
